The sun shone down on thousands of flag waving fans who lined Auckland’s Ponsonby Road to see the fab, the funky and the slightly outrageous flotilla of floats that took part in this year’s Pride Parade.  For the second year in a row Coca-Cola NZ participated in this colourful climax to the Auckland Pride Festival, now in its fourth year.

Over 60 Coke staff accompanied the Coke Float which featured a huge rainbow coloured floral heart forming a spectacular backdrop for top international DJ Dan Slater. The brilliantly choreographed Coke team danced, hula-hooped and somersaulted alongside DJ Dan who spun his own brand of house music, together with the sounds from Coca-Cola’s new global campaign Taste the Feeling.

A key player in CCANZ’s support of the Pride Parade, Martin King, GM Human Resources, says the parade provides a platform for people to gather, socialise and express themselves. “We were thrilled by the enthusiastic participation of Coke’s staff, family and friends. Our fabulous Coke Float was a huge hit with the crowd, DJ Dan inspired our dancers and once again we were enormously proud to be involved in such a wonderful, joyous celebration.”

Diversity is a key part of CCANZ’s people strategy and Managing Director Chris Litchfield says it’s a major factor in attracting and retaining creative, talented and vibrant people in the Coke workplace.

“Our company prides itself on being diverse and inclusive. Last year we were the first FMCG company in New Zealand to receive the official Rainbow Tick which acknowledges us as being supportive of the Rainbow (LGBTI) community, committed to gender equality and making a difference in diversity.”
